This programme is a really great way to bring practical mindfulness into your everyday life. What makes this programme special is that it is tailor made to suit your everyday life. Mindfulness practices are designed to be incorporated into your day in a way that is easy and manageable. Meditations are 10, 20 and 30 minutes in length depending on what is manageable for you. So what can you expect? The beginning and end of each class is a way for you to stop, to breathe and settle in after your day as we come into the various meditation practices. Audio meditations are available for home practices. We now know that with regular meditation we can actually change the structure of our brain. The area of the brain associated with fight, flight, stress, are reduced, while areas of the brain associated with calm, focus, ease and well-being are increased. All in all, pretty amazing that we can change our brain simply by sitting and doing nothing.
During the body of the class we explore Mindfulness within the context of our everyday activities. Each week there are assigned practices to explore and experience through the lens of being Mindful in our day-to-day routine. For it is in our everyday life where we experience life challenges…and of course we have some fun along the way!!
